Josephine was only dancing at Youth Ballet and Contemporary Dance School for two years when she first joined the Company at the age of 12. Josephine is homeschooled and plays several musical instruments – the guitar, the piano and the pipe organ. She is starting a chemistry degree at the University of Regina. She was also asked to dance and teach with the SQx Danza.
Dance has made an impact on Josephine’s life. She attributes coming to dance everyday with helping to “shape me into the person I am today, by building my self discipline, perseverance and team work skills.” Even though she is not pursuing the arts in her post-secondary education, Josephine believes that dance has given her tools that can help her achieve her goals in University.
The best advice Josephine can give young dancers is that “if you are true to yourself as a dancer and be the best you can be, you will be unstoppable. Don’t try and copy anyone.”
In closing, Josephine would like to thank her parents for their complete support in what she does.
