Michelle recently moved to Regina from the United States and is happy to be part of the YBCS faculty. She trained in the Vagonova style of classical ballet and danced with several ballet companies in California. Some of her favourite roles include Arabian Dance from The Nutcracker, soloist in Paquita, Carmen and Le Corsaire. At the age of 18 she was awarded an apprenticeship with the prestigious Kirov Ballet Academy. As well as studying Ballet, she trained in Modern, Jazz, Tap and Vocal Music. This prepared Michelle for her career in Musical Theatre. Some of her credits include 5 years as one of the famous Radio City Rockettes, as well as roles in Oklahoma, Annie Get Your Gun, The Will Roger’s Follies, The Music Man, The Who’s Tommy. Most recently, Michelle returned to her classical ballet roots and performed as part of an adagio act, a blend of pas de deux and acrobatics. In conjunction with her dance training, Michelle is a certified Stott Pilates method instructor.
